About
Welcome
The Simpson Elementary team has established a personalized and collaborative learning environment, creating a place that many students will proudly call their elementary school home. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring that every student feels welcomed and valued from the moment they enter our doors. We strive to provide an atmosphere where all students can feel comfortable, develop confidence, and become inspired to realize their fullest potential.
While we are thrilled to open our new building, we recognize that our teachers and staff are truly the heart of our school. Our team is comprised of exceptional educators who exemplify the qualities we hope to instill in our students, including servant leadership, innovation, effective communication, integrity, and the empowerment of others. Together, our teachers and staff work collaboratively to make Simpson Elementary an outstanding place for learning and growth.
We invite parents, students, and the broader community to partner with us on this journey to make the coming year both memorable and extraordinary. It is an honor to be part of such an exciting endeavor, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming every student with care and enthusiasm.

Max H.Simpson

Max H. Simpson Elementary School officially opened in 2020, serving students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Waxahachie ISD commenced construction of its ninth elementary campus with the Simpson Elementary groundbreaking ceremony on May 10, 2019, held in honor of longtime WISD educator Max H. Simpson. Mr. Simpson dedicated 51 years to the field of education, including 18 years of service on the WISD School Board.
Simpson earned his bachelor's degree in history and education from Baylor University in 1956 and subsequently received a master's degree in education from Baylor in 1958. He began his teaching career with Waco ISD in 1958. In 1970, Simpson and his family relocated to Waxahachie, where he assumed the role of assistant superintendent for the district.
As a district administrator, Simpson was instrumental in the integration of Waxahachie ISD in 1970, a period marked by the opening of a new high school and the merger of Turner High School and Waxahachie High School. He retired as assistant superintendent of personnel and instruction in 1991. From 2001 to 2011, Simpson served on the WISD Board of Trustees, during which time the board oversaw the opening of Waxahachie Global High School, an Early College High School, and the passage of two bonds that facilitated the construction of Oliver E. Clift Elementary, Margaret L. Felty Elementary, Howard Junior High, and Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium.
We are truly honored by this legacy that WISD has gifted our family. You could not have chosen a more dedicated, funny, honest, hardworking, and giving man than our dad. Generations of children will be part of the legacy of Simpson Elementary, and we are greatly honored by your selection.
Megan Mills, daughter of Max Simpson
